Ilimbek Sadykov (Kyrgyzstan) received a Master in International Law from the International University of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, in 2007. In 2006, he joined the advanced local human-defender NGO “Legal Clinic “Adilet” as a lawyer, providing legal aid for key populations at higher risk (injecting drug users, sex-workers, prisoners, LGBTs and people living with HIV). In 2009 he joined UNDP HIV Program as a Coordinator of legal initiatives later he became a Head of this Program. Within this Program he was involved in the national policy making on HIV. For more than 10 years (2012-2022) he was working for the Public Health Program and Open Society Foundations in Kyrgyzstan. This Program was aimed at promoting rights for communities, promotion of harm reduction programs, HIV prevention, paralegals development. Since 2016, he coordinated the work of paralegals with support from the Global Fund. Since 2023 he has been involved in the Central Asia and Eastern Europe regional Social Equation Hub as an International expert on social contracting and for more than six years he was a member of Kyrgyzstan CCM. Ilimbek is a licensed lawyer, married with 2 sons and 2 daughters.
