Our Priorities

“As we navigate a world increasingly shaped by political shifts, environmental crises, security challenges, and conflict, 2024 stands as a crucial year for the Global Fund. With new grants in motion and the Eighth Replenishment approaching, the stakes are high. Civil society, communities, implementers and donors all face intense pressures, making it harder to protect the progress we’ve achieved in supporting those most vulnerable to HIV, TB, and malaria. Yet, even in these difficult times, we must stay committed, remembering that every gain we’ve made has been hard-won and worth defending.”

Cecilia Senoo (Ghana), Board Member, DCNGO Delegation

The Delegation priorities are reviewed annually. At the Delegations annual retreat in April 2023 and again at its most recent retreat in August 2024, the Delegation discussed its key policy priorities which are linked to the current context to progress through the Global Fund Board (and related committees). After significant discussion and debate, it was decided to remain focus on these areas:

The overarching priority for DCNGO Delegation is to elevate civil society in the global health agenda, and to ensure that funds are invested (now and in the long term) in the areas and communities most affected by the three diseases, and especially those that governments do not fund. DCNGO Policy Priorities for 2024-25 cluster around four areas including:

  • Funding for civil society
  • Legal and human rights
  • Building sustainability
  • Advocating for a successful 8th replenishment
